Ja’Carei was appropriately dressed for his age and the season. Ja’Carei appeared to be in a positive mental state despite his hostile behaviors towards others. 2. Behavior: Ja’Carei displayed hostile behaviors at times within the session as he was getting upset with his sister as he reports how his sister is always “pissing him off” which is why he engages in the behaviors that he does at home. 1.Intervention: QMHP-C initiated an activity to Ja’Carei and one his sisters regarding sharing emotions with cards. This topic was visited after QMHP-C diffused an argument between the siblings upon arrival to the home. QMHP-C informed Ja’Carei and his sister that the activity will teach one another ways to affectively and appropriately share emotions with one another while minimizing aggression both verbal and physical. The cards have different emotions on them and each person has to pick another person to share that emotion with. The activity is meant to allow each family member a chance to share a positive thought about one another. 2. Intervention: QMHP-C also introduced a feelings chart to the siblings to teach them the understanding of feelings. It teaches each individual how to share the appropriate feeling. QMHP-C assisted Ja’Carei with aggressive actions in identifying how others might feel when they are the object of such actions. Ja’Carei was taught how his damaging aggression or destructive behavior has hurt others and will continue to do so unless his behavior is changed or kept to a minimum. QMHP-C explored the idea of how Ja’Carei would like to be treated by others, along with what he would need to do to make this possible. QMHP-C explained to Ja’Carei that he has to learn to be more open to change and develop a better attitude about change. 1.Response: Ja’Carei was receptive to QMHP-C's suggestions for today's session. Ja’Carei presented a closed mind about wanting to change his attitude and behaviors evidenced by his inability to recognize how he has hurt the feelings of his siblings in the present and past. Ja’Carei and his sister did well with the activity that focused on sharing emotions once Ja’Carei provided full participation. 2. Response: Ja’Carei and his sister were able to express their emotions and how they both have hurt each other’s feelings in the past by engaging in verbal and physical aggression toward each other. Ja’Carei explained that he will continue to feel like he needs to defend himself against his siblings when they hurt his feelings.
